Hello all, had a few days away in the Yorkshire Dales, the excuse to go being the British Championship Ladies Trial in Wensleydale! Park Gate Farm was the venue and ‘local ladies’ Becky Cooke & Victoria Payne were riding. We thought Becky seemed to be struggling more than we expected in the first few sections, but she came good later on and pushed Emma Bristow into 2nd place comfortably if you judged by marks lost. I’m sure it wasn’t actually that simple. The Title will be decided at the last Round, whichever of them wins on the day will be Champion, so ‘no pressure’. Victoria placed second by just 1 mark from Louise Alford but both were a little way back from Hannah Richardson. Good to see Vicky Lamb winning the Ladies non Championship class on a twin shock Fantic, the other entrants were all on mono shocks of one sort or another, her smile had to be seen to be believed at the awards ceremony, I wonder if she would ‘improve’ on a more modern bike? Lets hope Becky & Victoria have good fortune in the last Championship Round.
I hear the Kingswood Hare & Hounds went well with a large entry, boosted on the day by cancellations of other scheduled Events. As long as you liked rain & mud, apparently it was enjoyable! with rain from the drop of the flag to the end [& beyond].
