What a Great Day Out – at Swindons’ Corinium Enduro.

Hi everyone, now before I forget, we’ve posted up Regs & Entry Form for Mendip Vales’ Centre Trials Championship ‘Traders Trophy’ on Easter Sunday April 24th [note change of venue to Lambs Lair after their ‘new venue’ fell through a couple of weeks ago], for the West Wilts Hare & Hounds at Naish Hill on 5th June [note date change from Centre Fixture List].

We’ve also posted Regs & Entry Forms for BSSA’s Club Glenis Sinclair Memorial 2 hour Timed Trial on May 22nd [note date change from Centre Fixture], that’s running at Lambs Lair as well. We should have Results of BSSA’s 3rd Alan Brown T/Trial up for you during Tuesday Jan tells me.

Yes a great day out at the Corinium, wall to wall sunshine, great entry of 154, only 2 non starters, 5 laps for Experts, 4 for inbetweens, 3 for the Clubmen, two special tests ridden on the 2nd lap. Regretfully St John was called into action, & three riders had to visit Cirencester Hospital, we hope they are all back in speedy action, speedily. SSDT entrants Ian Shuttleworth & Andy Noad were getting in some speed work for their foray to Scotland, while Ian Fortune was absent getting in some section practice, for his Scottish ride, at the Zona 1 ‘Dennis Saunders’ Trial just up the road. James Ovens was riding his first time card  Enduro, & unlike many, he seemed to have what you do in time card events off pat, riding within himself & saving max. effort for the special tests. Yesterdays’ Alan Brown Timed Trial at Hanham Woods had been used as a ‘loosener’  by some of the competitors who claimed that they wouldn’t have been tired at the finish if they hadn’t ridden the night before.

I don’t believe them, they just aren’t fit enough! Frank
