    Frank didn’t know where to put this;
    The club marking out team enjoyed yestrday setting out the sections ready for the Centre championship trial next Sunday. As we were mob handed we hacked out as much new stuff as we could find, we have spaced out the sections as best we can and made the sections as open as possible. for me the best subs are always in the quarry area and we have 4 in there 3 nasties and one easyplan. In general we have tried to make it very novice friendly on the yellow route middle route is going to take a few from B class although likes of Nigel T and Martin W should have few problems. As usual the other guys reckon I’m too hard on the experts when setting out but they are experts after all.. if the weather stays the same I reckon it will be 20 odd marks for good ride. As most will know we have hardstand parking area which we have to sweep after so please to all concerned don’t leave too much mud and rubbish behind you. As ever in trials we need observers on the day so if you can please try to bring somebody …it’s more fun than wandering around with unnecessary fuel and fizzy drinks for your chosen rider. At the time of writing I’m not sure wether the entry limit of 75 is full.. it was close yesterday ..if you havn’t already entered perhaps “bringing an observer” would clinch the deal. All best see you on Sunday

    Hi Russell,
    Actually we’re Wessex & your medal says Western which is our neighbour up the road. I’m not certain when the Wessex Centre was created. They have their own website.
    I would be pretty confident that it’s Howard Raymond Davies – google Vincent HRD. I have also found reference to Hill climbs at Kingsdown Hill, Bath in 1921 – but don’t know when it was first or last used, or if 1921 was a one-off
    Please let us know if you get some more details about the event, & if you can send a scaled picture of the front & back of the medal that would be interesting.
    Regards: Frank

    We have come across a silver medal (bought in a pub many years ago) and are trying to find out what we can about it.

    On the front there is a motorcycle and the Western Centre ACU name – we googled the name to get your contact details.

    On the back it is engraved with ‘Kingsdown Hill Climb’, 20.08.21. H R Davies, together with a silver hallmark.

    We would just be interested in any information that we can find out about this medal.

    Many thanks,

    Russell Hawkins
