I have just found the Regs for the Reg Lewis Trial – I moved to Canada in 1984 and stopped sidecar trials arround 74, although I remained scrutineering bikes and cars through to 84.
My surprise was that I recognised nad knew the officials , things dont change, even remember Allan Brown, John Awford wtc
what happened to Graham Manning , Allan Brown etc ?

What a great job by the Valers I should think it will inspire some new thinking when plotting sections by others now. Top job the Traders is “intact” .
Ps did anybody find a short RH fork leg protector? ………..Jan’s is missing in action and we’re off to a rocky place, it would be shame if she scratches a virgin forkleg!

Just a note to say how much I enjoyed yesterdays trial.

Brian did an excellent job in making the majority of the sections ridable in the most awful conditions and relativly safe at least on the yellow route.

Terry,

The xplanation is that the Bristol Evening Posts correspondent got it wrong. When he was told Colin didn’t finish the Knut, he assumed Ben did win, although he didn’t ask who the Champion was!

As we all know, the title did ‘go down to the wire’ & I got it right [fortunately]. The Final Champ Tables were only posted the day after the Trial as several checks & rechecks were made before we published that Colin was the Champion again
