Mary Crease has sent over Regs & Entry Forms for the Frome Club’s Ron Jefferies Trophy Trial which is on the 14th September. Tom is a lot better than he was & with offers of help from Jerry Cross & other riders [thanks guys] in laying out, will be your CofC. You’ll remember the Frome Wyndham Haines Centre Champ Trial had to be cancelled in April back when Tom was poorly? Well, the Ron Jefferies will run as a Centre Championship Trial. You can find the Regs here Frome Ron Jefferies CChamp 140914 Please can you all note on your Calendars that its a Centre Championship Round & let anyone who might not check this web-site know about it. See you there?
Hello all, Pete Culliford has been in touch to update me & importantly you youth riders about the Centre’s Training scheme. Succinctly,
I hope all is well, I am just looking at a provisional date for 1st training event for Wessex Youth riders to be held on 18-10-14 at venue TBC, can all interested riders please contact me on 07717 210168 to let me know if they can attend on this date and pass on details to any others that may be interested, We can then get the permit application sorted. Tom Culliford is in the process of setting up a Facebook page for Wessex Youth Squad so details can be posted here, details of this to follow.
—————So get Saturday the 18th October on your calendar now, call Pete on 07717 210168 so he knows you can make the date. Tell anyone who doesn’t know about it & wants to be involved. I see Victoria Payne was R/up to Louise Alford yesterday in the A class age group at the British Championship Round held at Fremington Edge just by Reeth yesterday. I see that Tom Culliford was up at the B class age group Round in Northumbria two weekends ago. The ‘Youth Squad’ is aimed at helping you guys realising all your Trials potential. So we hope you’ll take advantage of the training days
Becky Cook was R/up to Emma Bristow in the Adult Ladies event at Fremington Edge. I did wonder if Donna Fox might enter as she rode the Seymour Arms Arena Trial. Pleased to see that the prime mover of that Event, Stu Robinson & the N Berks Club raised £420 with a raffle for RTA casualty Nikita Smith & dropped the cheque in on the way up to the Ladies Championship Round [report & picture at Trials Central].
The NSMSC Centre Championship Timed Trial Regs are now available, as I reminded you, it’s on 21st September & regs are here NSMSC Centre Champ Ivan Manning TT – 210914
Another little girl!
Ben & Abbie Shuttleworth are blessed with Harleigh May a sister for Hayden.
Jerry Walters has mailed over Saturdays North Somerset Club 90 minute TattooTime Results, & says “Our hopes for an easy event on a dry course were dashed when the heavens opened 10 minutes before the start!” Cheers Jerry. It didn’t stop Jason Hamblin from taking the premier though, & he only had feet down once – the last section, lost just 8 on time as well – in a rush to get back home to get back to Amy & ‘new recruit’ Willow? NSMSC TattooTime TT Results 090814 Results are also on the appropriate Page
Don’t forget the next NSMSC Event – the Centre Timed Trials Championship Round on 21st September, Regs will be posted when available.
Keep them up: Frank
Hello all, here’s some good news.
Congratulations to Jason & Amy Hamblin who announce a sister for Alfie, Willow Grace, who weighed in at 7lbs 10oz on Wednesday 6th of August at 19:00hrs. Congratulations to all concerned especially Amy as she may have to ‘go back in’ for a day or two. Jason hopes to be riding the TattooTime Time trial tomorrow, but if he doesn’t show you’ll know why!
Jan Watkins has sent across the BSSA Reg Lewis Solo & Sidecar Trial results from last Sunday 3rd August which you can find here BSSA Reg Lewis Trial Results 030814 I see glancing at the Results, the solo AB class was relatively easy, 5 riders, two on clean, Rob Hilton & Ollie Humphris, Rob Scott on 1, Jon Bees on 2 & Centre Chairman Keith Wooster on 3, so it was really close between them. Nice, also, to see Chloe Cross having a C class outing. Among the Sidecars, I’m not surprised that Jon Tuck/Matt Sparkes took the Premier Reg Lewis Award, losing just a dab, with the R/up Award the Ken Avery Trophy going to Josh/Luke Golding on 7m/l & third placed Phil Sparkes/David Tuck picked up the Graham Manning Trophy also dropping 7m/l. The 90 minute Brian Hudson Memorial Time Trial Regs & Entry Form for the 14th of September you can find here BSSA Brian Hudson TT 140914
Both can also be found on the usual ‘Page’
See you soon: Frank
ps Remember I mentioned the casualty rescued from the Reeth 3 day. According to the Swaledale Mountain Rescue website the casualty was carried down Fremington Edge. While certainly not belittling the Mountain Rescue guys at all [they do a wonderful volunteering job which many people have reason to be grateful for], my perception of being ‘carried down Fremington Edge’ is of an incredibly arduous task, whereas the casualty was carried no more than 500m, I estimate, down the gentle lower wooded slopes to the Arkle Beck level pastures.
