Todays Kingswood’s Hawkesbury Trophy Results, West Wilts H&H today 30/09/12, Franks thoughts, the Results are likely to be available tomorrow & how to find the Venue for the WWMC Errington Cup Trial on 14/10/12

Hello guys [guys includes lady riders of course]

Results for the Hawkesbury Trophy Trial are now posted, on this the Centre & the Kingswood Club sites. We weren’t there I know but were the  outstanding rides George Marshman  [Youth B] Richard Elliott [o40] & Dave [Fry o50] who all lost 1 mark on their respective routes or was it Expert winner B Fry [sorry I can’t immediately be certain of your first name] on just 2 marks lost? As the Results for the Hawkesbury say “As always, many thanks to the riders for supporting this event and making it a success!”

We at WWMC, echo Kingswoods thanks to riders, & hope you’ve had a really good day. We were delighted to have a full line up, & you had 3 hours of track time on a drying course.  We’ve heard the grumbles & tried to take them on board, in the same way we’ve had to explain to some of you why we have asked you not to use power washers & specified that on the Regs. I’ve spent probably an hour today speaking to the landowners both during & after the event to help us to be able to ask for & hopefully be granted permission for you to ride at Farleigh again next year.

But I’m pleased to say many, no most, of you were smiling at the end. & thanked us for running, It does help make it all worthwhile for us Organisers. Another thing I’ve had my ear bent about is environmental mats, or lack of. I counted 5, 2 in the pit or refuelling area & 3 under the tasty Husabergs on the MidWest Racing stand! BTW the point of environmental mats is to help protect the ground from fuel & oil spillages from sloppy pit work & ye there were bike fuel tanks being overfilled, fuel cans being knocked over with them being capped so they just leaked straight onto the ground!

Course cutting & overtaking in the blue tape zone were other things raised with me.

The Clubs thanks  all the helpers we’ve had to get the event up & running for you.

Maybe you noticed when you signed on that Kay Gerken, our Club Secretary wasn’t sorting you all out? For once Kay couldn’t make it & Chris & Phyllis hope they were nearly as good! Likely overall winners, Dan Price had a big endo at the start of the first lap that put him out for the day & Tyson Maytom-Jones, I  also saw had retired for an unknown [to me] reason. So maybe Derek Baughan placed well?

Results:  Tom said to me that they probably won’t be posted until tomorrow as he has an airport run to do after he’d had packed up all his timing kit

Errington Cup: Mike Hann was in touch this evening about this WWMC Trial in a fortnights time. You can find the Regs & Entry Form on this website, but what I do want to tell you all as well as Mike & the rest of the Yeo Vale Club is how to get to our new venue.

The piece of land that we are intending to use is commonly known as ” Perry’s ” at Langridge, Bath, BA1 9BX

We shall signpost it from the A420 Bristol to Chippenham road., but it can also be found coming in from the M4 by using the signs to Bath Racecourse or the Lansdown Park & Ride.
If arriving from central Bath you will need to go up Lansdown road for about 3 miles going past the M.O.D, Park & Ride, Blathwayt Pub, Bath Golf club and the Racecourse.
Hope this helps….   Frank

Wells Presidents Regs are here!

Good morning on Thursday!

We’ve posted the Wells Presidents Centre Champ Timed Trial Regs for you in the usual place, thanks to Jerry Cross sending them over to me. My webbrowser keeps telling me Wells Motorcycle Trials [where you can get them directly from the Club website] is unavailable.

See you soon! Oh BTW it looks as if the West Wilts Hare & Hounds could be oversubscribed

North Somerset MSC Ivan Manning TT Results from 23/09/12

Good Morning all,

Jerry Walters has sent over Sundays Results. I see Simon Prideaux was best, Jason Hamblin R/Up & Fittingly Paul [Manning] was 3rd.

More thoughts to follow if time permits, Off to Farleigh Castle later on – we’ve got to get set-up for West Wilts’ Hare & Hounds on Sunday.

We’ve rather a lotof things to update you on …… The Phoenix in Flames

Hi all, for various reasons including a few days away – to see the last National Ladies & Girls Championship Trial up between Leeds & Bradford in Tong,  we’ve not updated you as promptly as you would wish.

So here goes, all will be up to date by lunchtime I’m sure.

Just one thought to share with you at the moment. At the Frome Ron Jefferies Restricted to Centre Trial there were just two Observers who were associated with a rider! Do you riders really want to have  Competitions where you are ‘self observing’? It’s great to see lots of riders competing, but …………….  ’nuff said?

Right, here are the latest Regs & Results that are available in todays site update: Regs for the BSSA 5th Alan Brown Club Restricted Timed Trial, Regs for Wilts Borders’ Endeavour Cup Club Restricted Trial & Results for the BSSA 2hour Brian Hudson Timed Trial.

Jerry Cross reminds you about  that the regs are available on www.welltrials.co.uk for the Wells Centre Championship Presidents Timed Trial on the 7th of October at Emborough . Please note I think the Clubs website is down at the moment, so I cant find them either. I’ll post them on here as soon as I get them direct from Jerry.

Sorry to hear at the last Board Meeting that the Bristol Phoenix Club has been wound up by Gary Scrivens. Maybe the Phoenix will rise again some time? The [smallish] amount of Club funds has been donated to the Benevolent Fund.

Frome’s Ron Jefferies Results are posted. Centre Trials Championship Thoughts?

Good evening all,

What a nice day over at Elmington Manor Farm today. Almost like summer!

Good to see Kevin Miller continuing his recuperation with his second ride since his hospitalization. I didn’t see many rides but Youth C newcomer Harry Love-Jones had a very competent clean ride on the yellow route on Phyllis’ section. Trial Winner Gary Marshman didn’t look at all comfortable on the expert route of that section going over that first log on the steep downhill bit, he got away with it but it was all a bit ‘iffy’ Some of the other experts made it look a lot easier!

Pretty good entry too 64 of you. I see in Mary’s Results that she has thanked all the observers (as well as the 64 of you) & I know you all thanked the Observers, but you only had to do that, what 4 or 5 times if I exclude Tom & Mary (who shouldn’t have to should they?). If I remember correctly they were Brian Valder, Colin Hassall, Phyllis, Nicola Golding & Bob Burt. Yes I know that it isn’t uncommon that you observe yourselves when you’re riding with a group of mates, or that one of you will pick up a board until the section queue has vanished before you move on, but as some of you said to me, it does slow things down a bit.

I’m more bothered about Championship Rounds, really we shouldn’t have to make the best of a bad job & not have all sections manned, & I’m sure you would all prefer to ride with independent observers of your efforts – even if you maybe question the Observers decision sometimes!

I’ve got quite a few more thoughts about the Centre Championships that I’ll either add to this post later this evening, or amplify during the week separately. I’ve been delegated to seek your opinions (Riders & Organisers) about next years (2013) Centre Championship to help the Board decide whether to run Stop Permitted or No Stop. Simple enough to do via an email survey/questionnaire to you all.

Mendip Vale’s Brockley Cup Trial 23 September, West Wilts Errington Cup Trial 14 October, NSMSC’s TattooTime Chase Results: they are now correctly found where you expect!!

We have posted these Regs for you!

Meanwhile, we’ve corrected the error which gave you the Regs for the North Somerset TattoTime Timed Trial instead of the Results that you expected. Somebody’s ‘finger trouble’ I expect, could be mine I’ll take the blame anyway. Thanks to NSMSC & Jerry Walters for pointing it out!

The Mendip Club have a new web-site: find it at www.mendipvalemcc.com  The Mendip Vale web site has been down due to microsoft mucking us about, but Tom has now created a new one who’s address is above which is up and running. The Valers tell me  that the trial is being run at our usual venue at Croxbottom using both sides of the track which will create a longish lap hopefully of 12 subs with 6 each side of the track. It’s a 10.30 start & you can enter on the day.

The West Wilts Centre Trials Championship Errington Cup is at a new venue for us, Upper Farm at Langridge in Bath. I’ve not been there but it is known to some of you as the Bath Classic Club have used the ground in the past. Junction 17 of the M4 will get you there if you’re using Motorways to get to us, but we’ll think over the best way to sign the venue.

Exciting F1 GP yesterday: an imperious display by Jenson Button in practice & the Race
