Jeff Dack from Swindon says: Hi Frank
Would you be so kind to put up a notice on the Wessex Centre Website regarding the forthcoming Swindon MCC Foxwell Enduro.Entries now available for Swindon MCC’s Foxwell timecard Enduro which will held on Sunday 12th September 2012 in the fabulous Cirencester Park, between Cirencester and Stroud.
Entries limited to 140, clubman and sportsman solo classes only so a great event for beginners. This event has been run in the park for over 30 years. It’s usually around an 18 to 24 mile track. A Trials tyre is required on the rear to preserve the land.
Entry fees are £45, plus either full club membership at £7 or day membership at £5. An ACU licence is required, but a one-day licence will be available at £1
Many Thanks: Jeff
We’ve also posted up the North Somerset Blackman Trophy Time Trial, & theFrome Ted Cox Trophy Trial Results on the appropriate Page.
Has Summer finally arrived? And if it has, how long will it stay?
Safe Riding: Frank
We’ve got the Brian Hudson Time Trial Regs available for you – on the Regs available Page, but have removed the NSMSC RT Keedwell Regs as there are some difficulties with venue etc that have to be resolved, so watch this space for further info about that.
Interesting British Solo Trials Champ Result down in Devon at the week-end. Ross Danby on the Jotagas was the winner. Ross has been a top runner for a while now but this is a big step forward for him I would think. It’ll certainly make the other guys think a little!
Tony Colman has sent over the North Somerset MSC Regs & Entry Forms for the TattooTime Chase Timed Trial on Saturday 11th August. Find the Regs on the appropriate Page!
The Swindon Club have had to change the venue for this coming Sundays Trial! A Message follows:
CHANGE OF LOCATION FOR THIS WEEKENDS TRIAL
There has had to be a rain enforced change of venue for this weekend, 15th July, which will see proceedings now take place at
The Old Station yard, Hannington, near Blunsdon
and NOT at Salthrop. With local events in the neighbouring Western Centre already scrubbed due to poor conditions, the Club expects to satisfy the needs of the frustrated trials riding fraternity.
The horrendous rainfall of recent weeks has not dampened the enthusiasm of Swindon & DMCC’s merry band of section plotters, borne out by the fact that the club’s Member’s Cup Trial will be staged on Sunday 15th July.
The venue provides a variety of cambers, climbs, root-laced and even stream sections for many abilities and will be staged regardless of the weather thanks to ample hard-surface parking. The course will consist of 10 sections to be ridden four times and caters for all adult and Youth A & B classes. A “sportsman” route is also included which is suitable for easy novice, twinshock and Over 50 entrants.
The Old Station Yard will be signposted off the B4019 Blunsdon to Highworth road east of Swindon. The postcode for the area is SN6 7RN.
Start time is 10.30 am and as an added incentive, 200 metres away is The Freke Arms pub where you’ll be able to recover after all your exertions.!!
Jerry Walters has sent over the Valley Smokehouse Results from last Saturday 7th July. You can find them on the Results page of course!
Brett King has sent over this note to reassure you that you’ll get an even better day at their ‘new’ old venue over near Minety.
“The horrendous rainfall of recent weeks has not dampened the enthusiasm of Swindon & DMCC’s merry band of section plotters, borne out by the fact that the club’s Member’s Cup Trial will be staged on Sunday 15th July. Clerk of the Course Keith Wooster inspected the venue last weekend and confirms that everything is in prime condition to mirror one of last year’s most popular rounds.
The venue was new for the club in 2011, providing a variety of cambers, climbs and root-laced sections for what was a well scrutinised event. Thankfully, good behaviour by all who rode and officiated has led to further areas being released for 2012 and Sunday’s event promises to be equally as enjoyable as last years. The course will consist of 10 sections to be ridden four times and caters for all adult and Youth A & B classes. A “sportsman” route is also included which is suitable for easy novice, twinshock and Over 50 entrants. Bassett Down at Salthrop near Swindon is the location and it will be signposted due south of junction 16 of the M4. Start time is 10.30 am so do come along for “A Trial with A View” and enjoy good sport in a cracking setting over-looking the Vale of Minety and The Cotswolds.”
Good to hear more ground is available this year than last due to the Events ‘good behaviour’
