Check your ACU camera!

Check your ACU camera, what’s all this about then?

The Club holder of the ACU “incident pack” should check the expiry date of the camera included in it.

Centre President Phil Steadman had cause to use the Southern Twin Shock Club kit recently & found the use by date was in 2009. If you check & find yours is out of date, call Geraldine on ACU reception, she’s appraised of the situation & will send you a replacement ASAP.

What’s new today – Wednesday 9th July 2010

G’morning to all:

Not two wheel motor sport but have you noticed that ‘Team Mansell’ – Nigel & sons Leo & Greg have entered Les quatre vingt heures du Mans this weekend. Hope it doesn’t go pear shaped for them.

OK. Back to proper sport, we’ve got Regs & Entry Forms available now for the Kingswood Restricted to Centre Hangover Trial on 4th Jul, the North Somerset evening Timed Trial on 21st July & the y & Kingswood’s Centre Championship Hare & Hounds on 7th August.

Jerry Walters has sent in last Saturdays NSMSC Weymouth Trophy Timed Trial Results for you as well!

You know how to find it all, don’t you?

See you soon: Frank

Good work in the Hafren Enduro Champs round

My man on the spot passes on the good news that the West Wilts guys had a good weekend at the Hafren British Championship Enduro. A 45 mile lap as well! now that’s different to a lap of Naish Hill but you have to have the land or Forestry & the organising team available to put on an Event like that.

Anyway,

Tyson Maytom Jones –  13th in Expert 2nd in E3 class on Saturday & 11th in Expert class. 2nd in E3 on Sunday
Dan Beavan –                    18th in Expert 8th in E2 on Saturday, 13th in Expert class. 6th in E2 on Sunday
Ian  Shuttleworth –      4th in Clubman & 2nd in E2 on both days

None of the guys had any  major problems & it wasa  very well organised event with no rain on either day.

Safe riding: Frank

BSSA’s Tuck/Cross National Sidecar Trial – Jon & Matt and Phil & Roger clean up

BSSA[Wessex] ran their Tuck/Cross National Championship Trial last Sunday, 30/05/10.

I know it was home ground for our lads but Jon & Matt didn’t have more than a couple of dabs in any [of the 36] sections, only dropping marks in 6 of them to part with a miserly 8 in total. R/up team, Robin & Sam Luscombe dropped 38!

Phil & Roger, in the Clubman class put it over on Ali & Angela Haigh by 16m/l to 28 m/l. So Wessex socked it to them!

More chatter

North Somerset MSC have their “The Valley Smokehouse” 2 day Timed Trial  on 3/4 July Regs & Entry Form available now – look on the  ‘Regs. Available’ Page. Their Fowlers Trophy TT Results are also there for you on the ‘Non Championship Wessex Trial, Enduro, Hare & Hounds Results 2010’ Page.

Now a quick random Bank Holiday Weekend update

Wessex Centre riders invaded Yorkshire Trials Heaven over the weekend! Dave & Andrea Cottle, Chris Wrigley & Janet Hillier, Brian Shutt & Steve Hodge all taking in the Richmond Club Restricted 2 Day Trial. A smaller number , Chris Mitchard, Adam Colburn & Darren Butcher took in the Lyn Traders National on Exmoor.

Phyllis & I had some interesting chats with the Southend & District MCC Chairman about ACU “Politics” & a leading light in the Farleigh Twin Shock event for September .

It’s taken a long time to get it together but:-  Delighted to say that we’ve now got a Centre H&H Championship going, only 4 events but something to look forward to! It includes the WWMC Naish Hill H&H held 24th April, the next WWMC H&H on 17th July – see club website for Regs & Entry Forms, the Kingswood H&H on 7th August & the last WWMC H&H at Farleigh Castle on the 15/16th October weekend. Arranging venues & dates that don’t clash with British Championship events, or events run by commercial organisations especially when their dates always seem subject to change & cancellations has become really difficult. That’s not an excuse for this late notification, but it is the reason!

See you around: Frank
